Body as Source for Text is a workshop designed for the creatively curious. It is for artists as well as those without a regular arts practice. It is helpful for writers and dancers looking to expand their practice and connect body to text or text to body.
Movement and language are two of the most deeply human ways to access our creativity and depth. This workshop invites the participant to explore how the two can come together in a vibrant, expressive practice that is both playful and profound.
A trained dancer, Diya Naidu uses an embodied approach to explore themes of touch, intimacy, and patriarchy. Her primary practice involves using writing and movement to facilitate exciting shifts in verbal expression and physical experience. She has led workshops globally for various communities – teaching performer tools, movement, and the power of sensing and witnessing to professionals in theatre and movement, as well as community members. She is also a yoga teacher and animist healer.
